Cook Book

The Tios gave Elia a cookbook for her birthday and it was a hit!
We had breakfast banana splits the first day...

they were yummy.

French fries that evening.
They were tasty.

Pancakes the next day.
Super good.

Tonight we had Toad in the Hole.
They were declared "the best eggs ever" by the chef.

Modest, that one is.

You wouldn't have had any fries left if I were there....they sure look good! What are toads in holes or whatever that was? Great job, Elia! Maybe you'll get so good that you can take over one or two meals a day for your mami!

Toad in the Hole is a slice of bread with a circle cut out of it. You fry the bread (like a grill cheese) on one side, then you flip it and crack an egg in the middle. When the egg sets, you serve! Place the circle cut out over the egg so the "toad" can peek out.

Elia HATES fried eggs. But she loves Toad in the Hole - go figure.

That's a great idea! I've made the egg in the middle of a piece of bread before, but have always just buttered the other piece and eaten it on the side-much more fun to put it on top and I bet it very much looks like a toad in the a hole! Very cute.
