...is what we frequently call Elia around this house. She is so much like me it's uncanny. She has her father's eyes, but the rest is all me. One of the similarities we share is our mutual love of flowers.
She loves it when I have a wedding booked because the house is filled with flowers, and her little hands just itch to get started making things. It is such a disappointment to her that she has to wait until I'm done to get started on her own projects. She does quite well with wire, floral tape and corsage making. I'll have my helper yet.
Until she is able to get her hands on some wholesale flowers Elia makes do with the meager offerings of our garden. She recently made me the bouquet above. It's so well made, rounded, mixed colors, with a surprising ostrich feather of poppy leaf striking up out of the center. She has a great eye for color and balance. I'm not proud at all.
And the best part?
She couldn't find string, so she used...
duct tape!
Fantastic.

You can't live without duct tape! It works on EVERYTHING! Good job, Elia!
Does this mean Mama's hand is doing better???
A little better, but I'm living on Tylenol.
Sweet, sweet, sweet! I love the bouquet and I love this post.
