Shakespeare in the Round

We recently (ok, August) went to the Shakespeare theater for a viewing of Othello.
Josie was fascinated with the Clown - Othello’s servant. She felt that although the clown appears only in two short scenes, his appearances reflect and distort the action and words of the main plots: his puns on the word “lie” in Act III, scene iv, for example, anticipate Othello’s confusion of two meanings of that word.

Elia felt that the actress who played Desmonda fell short of Shakespeares intended herioine. Elia said, "While her secret marrige to Othello made me pause, I felt she was not as strong and bawdy as I found her to be in the original reading."

Yes, they are genius children.

HA HA HA HA HA!!

We went to see Aladdin.
At the Shakespeare theater, yes.
And when I asked the kids to pose in front of the painting, they all asked who that funny man was, and why was his hair weird?

I won tickets for the giveaway Beth was hosting, and we had a great time.
Aunt Mary Annie went with us, we met Aunt Katie for lunch, and had a great time.

Sorry for the Othello thing. We won't be reading that until Elia's at least 8.
