Poetry Wednesday, Vol. 25

The husband always whispers this in my ear when it's time for sweet nothings. How's a girl to answer back?

He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven

W.B. Yeats

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Sweet Mike. What a poetic soul.

I will never look at Mike the same way again. ; ) That is seriously some wonderfully romantic stuff! I missed poetry Wed. while I was gone. I'm looking forward to finding a poem for this week!

I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year! Let's try and catch up soon!

KRIS! Did you know that this very poem was on our wedding invitation?! Oh my gosh, it's so unbelievably beautiful. I'm so happy to see it again.
