unclear on the concept

Yesterday we read our Martin Luther King Jr. books, we watched his speech, we watched a short show about him.
We then talked about MLK Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech and colored some pictures either about our dream or about the man himself. You can see Mikey's drawing below.

Then we moved on with our day. We are doing a little workbook on the parables of Jesus and yesterday's parable was the mustard seed. We talked about how a teeny tiny seed can grow into a large plant, giving shelter for birds. We talked about how the idea could apply to us. Then we glued mustard seeds to the beard of the man in our workbook picture. As we were working Josie said, "I think that Luther man was a mustard seed." When I asked her why she thought so, she answered, "Because he was one small man, but he did great big things."

Then Mikey chimed in, "Yeah! AND he was a KING!"

Sigh. He'll get it next year.
