Friday morning fun

We had a little fun this morning.
First I woke up at a terrible, horrible, early hour of the morning - 6:30, I think. Oh, don't look at me that way. I know some of you already got up and worked 8 hours in the coal mines by that time, but all I can say to you is Black Lung, so get off my case - anyway, I got up really, really early and drove out to the wholesaler for some flowers! Came home to the welcome sight and sound of the husband feeding children while Hank Williams played loudly.

And we set to work.

Cousin Carol is getting married in July and tomorrow we celebrate the happy couple with a shower. The flowers are meant to match some of the party favors, and there's really nothing happier and springier than a gerbera daisy, right? Even if it didn't get above 50 here today, we're still intent on believing that spring has arrived.

The kids really, really, really, really, really, really wanted to help. I may have had to tell someone to stop. touching. THE. FLOWERS! once or twice, through clenched teeth, but on the overall, they were big helps and waited kind of patiently for their turn. It's common knowledge around these parts that any leftover flowers from any events are free for the taking.

Take they did.

The girls set to, making arrangements, corsages, bouquets, and petal/oasis/greenery soup. Elia is getting quite good at wiring and taping her own little corsages. We found a note with a corsage under it on Mike's dresser, the note said, "Papi plesese open this not. E.L.L.". Under the note, ahem, not, was a peach rose surrounded by pink and yellow frothy filler flowers (this corsage is huge, without the bow), and inside the not we read, "Corsage is for you. Plesese were it to work. E.L.L" Isn't she the sweetest? You know I'll make sure he wears it. If not all day, at least out the door so she can see him in it. I might even call him before he gets home to remind him to put it back on. Oh, we love making the Smelia happy.

I don't know what's going on with blogger. I was able to add pictures, but not the edited pictures, so things are dark and grainy (not like my photo skillz are that amazing in the first place - so I need all the help I can get!), but at least there are pictures.

I love the pictures now that I can see them. And I didn't even notice if they're grainy or whatever. I just love seeing pictures of the enanos!

Yay! Pictures! Your kids are way too sweet. Now let's see a picture of Mike with that corsage!

ahh...catching up on blog posts this evening. Bethie was looking at this the other day on her computer and I wondered what was going on with the pics. This makes sense. If you've edited pics and the edited ones aren't showing up, then that's the clue. I would guess the edited names to the pics have something in the file names that blogger doesn't like. Maybe something as simple as a blank space or a keyboard character that isn't allowed, like an "&," for example. Check your edited file names and be sure to removed blank spaces or anything else that may be causing this problem for you before you try to upload them. I think that might fix it. Hope so! (If that isn't it, it could be the edited photos are stored in a location that blogger doesn't like, but that's a wild guess that probably doesn't even make sense...but there has to be a reasonable techie explanation).

Love this. And the Black Lung and Future Florists of America unite made me smile. Thanks for that.
