While Abuela was here she and the girl made restuarant lists.
The idea was that we would have a restaurant in our house, and this will be our menu.
The difference between my two girls comes out loud and clear when they write.
Elia is a careful perfectionist. If she doesn't know how to spell a word she just won't write it. When prompted to sound it out she breaks down in tears - Please just write it for me, mama! - she wails.
Josie, on the other hand, writes in the same way that she dresses.
She throws caution to the wind, sounds it out and writes what makes her happy.
Don't try to correct the spelling, she knows what it says, it really doesn't matter if you understand it.

SPECIAL. SOUP.
NOODLES. KETCHUP. PIE.
COW. TEA. JUICE.
SMOOTHIE. WATER.
