On this particular visit, Elia came up to me and clutched my hand. "Come, look at this!" With excitement she pulled me along to the juvenile non-fiction section and pointed to a display at the end of a case of poetry books. "There! Look! I like THAT!"
You know what little girl? I do too.
Invitation
If you are a dreamer, come in
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er. a pray-er, a magic bean buyer...
If you're a pretender, come sit by the fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin.
Come in!
Come in!

Growing up, I had a tape of Shel Silverstein reading his poems. I can still hear his distinctive voice very clearly in my head.
I love that you live at the library. The library makes me happy, and your family makes me happy. How lucky I am to have you all so nearby!
I love the library too! We're not there nearly as often, although if it were a block away, we probably would be.
And that poem - love Shel Silverstein!
Happy Wednesday,
~Michelle
I have such fond memories of going to my local library growing up. Unfortunately, I have yet to venture out to ours. What a special place for your kids. And now, perhaps it is time to pick up our Shel Silverstein.
I love your poem! I love your library! I'm so glad your kids love to read!
