Butterflies!

In an effort to move spring along, Papi and kids made butterflies for the dining room. We have a wonderful craft book from Aunt Annie with all kinds of cool ideas.
The is Elia, the Angry Butterfly.

Josie, the Grounded Butterfly.

See? Just like the pictures...

Easter Prep

There was egg dyeing. And mama being very nervous about the dye spilling. There was cookie making and decorating. I didn't take pictures of the cookies. It's better that way.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day

Our leprechaun had a little trouble making her way over the water... something about night blindness, couldn't see the way, trouble with snakes, I don't know. anyway... she arrived in time for spring. Happy Saint Patrick's Day to all of you.

Yearning for Spring

You folks in California may be all warm and sunny, but around here we are getting a little stir crazy. We planted some green onions, potatoes, avocado and a pineapple. We'll see what survives. Mikey checks on the progress daily by pulling the onions out of the soil and inspecting the roots. They seem to be the only plants that are growing, though. Maybe he's on to something...

Wicked Witches

This is what happens when your mama works at a flower shop. I brought home some of the wrappers that Birds of Paradise are shipped in and we suddenly had a house full of cackling, evil, wicked witches. I believe they were both named Maleficent. There was a prince too, but he only had three pointy fingers. And they kept falling off. So he spent the night crying in frustration. And being poked by his sisters.

Snow Day

A few days back we had quite the heavy snow. We decided it was a perfect day to stay in pijamas and declare it a snow day. We made snow ice cream - too sweet for Mami, but the kids loved it! We played in the snow, learning that even though you're inside you still need boots to stand in the snow. All this before 11am... now what to do with the rest of the day...

Behold!

The Room O' Fun!
Grandpa made all the kids their own bookcase for Christmas. Thank you Grandpa! We opted to hang ours on the wall in our "craft" room and make it into a wall of pure happiness for the kiddos. They love being able to see everything. I love that they can't reach above the bottom shelf...

Grandma made each kiddo a pillow for Christmas. They even have their names on them! Thank you Grandma! We set up a little reading nook in one corner of the room. They love getting all cozy with a lamp on and a few good books.

We have a table in this room too. Just right for projects and paint and play dough and everything else I don't want in my dining room.

Gingerbread Cookies

Abuela gave us a Ladybug subscription and this issue talks about Swedish Pepper Cookies (gingerbread). We thought we'd give it a try. It was a finger, knife, and spoon lickin' good time! Three days later my floors and table and kitchen are still sticky... ah, Christmas.

Painting!

Mikey thinks he should be allowed to roam free with paint and a brush. Mama is of a different opinion.
